This March the Tasmanian Chapter's sustainability committee welcomes Lucia Wellington, an Associate at Cumulus in Launceston Tasmania. Join us as Lucia shares the experiences Cumulus has had in becoming a B Corp certified company. There are 18 B Corp certified Architects in Australia. Cumulus is the only Tasmanian certified practice. The global B Corp certification model places social and environmental value on a similar magnitude of importance to economic value within a business. Working in a profession that contributes significantly to global greenhouse emissions, Cumulus uses the B Corp framework to ensure there is balance between purpose and profit. This framework also ensures there is accountability and continuous improvement within the practice. The Open Space Conversation series will be led by the Sustainability Committee chair, Dr Mark Dewsbury, and the committee to create time and space for people to engage in meaningful conversation about key issues in sustainability.
