The Business School of Architecture is a new initiative from the Australian Institute of Architects designed to equip architectural leaders with the business knowledge needed to build thriving and economically sustainable practices. The curriculum has been developed by architects for architects, drawing on participants design thinking skills to reframe core business challenges, such as strategy, finance, and leadership, as creative, solvable problems. As part of the development process, we are piloting two of the most critical modules: Strategy and Financial Performance. Each module will be delivered as a half-day face to face workshop – one full day in total on Friday 27th March 2026 in the Melbourne CBD, with individual and group-based pre- and post-workshop activities (approx. 6 hours total) designed to foster both individual reflection and group-based planning (and provide feedback for the fine tuning of the modules).
